Teaching children how to type and use computers is a
great way to increase their ability to use and learn from technology. When you
are in charge of a typing class at your school, there are many different rules
that you should put in place around the technology. Below are three computer
classroom rules you should utilize.
1. Handle with Care
Computers in the classroom are an investment that you
want to protect. While in the classroom,
you should ensure you teach children how to handle these machines so they do not get broken. You also want to
apply this to all aspects of the classroom, such as your typing software and SpeedSkin keyboard covers.
2. No Food and Drink
Food and drink around computers can be detrimental.
Though we may all be guilty of spilling some grime or coffee on our own personal devices, we want to ensure those
in the classroom remain clean. Your students should not have any food or drink
near the computers while they are in class.
3. Always Log Off
Think of logging off as cleaning up after yourself. It
prepares the computer for the next user and ensures the previous student’s work
is not lost or tampered with. Make it a rule that all students must log off
when the class is completed.
